Frank Kirchner - Zoomachine
Frank Kirchner and Zoomachine – Panic in the Peanut Gallery
Frank Kirchner has been a member of Herbert Grönemeyer’s live band since 1986, playing tenor saxophone on most of his albums. Kirchner has played with Live 8, The Toten Hosen, Gloria Gaynor, Hildegard Knef and Gianna Nannini as well as Herwig Mitteregger, Anne Haigis, Randy Brecker and Joe Sample. In 2008 Kirchner created Zoomachine with Marcus Scheltinga and guests Claus Fischer, Peter Erskine or Larry Carlton. Someone who loves Miles Davis’ Bitches Brew and Mysterious Traveller by Weather Report will definitely feel at home with Zoomachine. The music is both complex and lively with a wide emotional scope created by studio guests Lew Soloff and Finn Martin. The album is appealing, far-out - even scary. Definitely not background music.
