Christian Elsässer - Seemingly
Seemingly doesn´t sound like music played by a trio. It sounds bigger – you might even say it rocks. But the trio can handle the art of gentle nuances and their lyrics sparkle over their dream-like melodies and a super-charged atmosphere. Bassist, Henning Sieverts recently won the ECHO for best national bassist and the excellent Bastian Jütte plays drums. Christian Elsässer (winner Jazzposition 2010 which focused on contemporary jazz) regularly plays with Klaus Doldinger’s Passport and saxophone giant, Pee Wee Ellis. His playing is dynamic, elegant, sovereign and technically adept. Christian does not rely on academic finger exercises but sheer finesse and is never in danger of being routine. It´s jazz to marvel at: “Imagine, if you will, the harmony of Bill Evans, the inspiration of Keith Jarret and the energy of Chick Corea in one.“ - Joe Kienemann, Bayerischer Rundfunk.
