Carmen Cuesta - Mi Bossa Nova

The CD is a tribute to the the great Antonio Carlos Jobim. Sophisticated female pop/jazz singer Carmen Cuesta's smooth, sensitive voice guides the listener into a romantic mood. When jazz and R & B are on the agenda at recording studios in the Big Apple, this native of Madrid residing in New York has belonged to the top echelon of studio vocalists for several years.

The theaters of Spain were her first calling, where she acted, sang and danced in a wide variety of stage productions, among them such shows as "Godspell". It was during that phase that she became acquainted with jazz guitarist Chuck Loeb. When wedding bells began to chime, none other than Stan Getz was on hand as best man.
Carmen Cuesta went on to assume the role of tried-and-true background vocalist, adapting her style to enhance many gigs time and again.

The spectrum of artists she has accompanied includes Grover Washington Jr., Michael Franks, Gato Barbieri, Peabo Bryson, Earl Klugh, Jim Hall, Till Brönner and Peter Fessler. At the same time, efforts with her husband were commenced full-swing to move into the New York club scene.  These resulted in regular live appearances delighting the hip and very hep at such venerable spots as the Blue Note or Fat Tuesdays, sharing the spotlight with such world-class musicians as Will Lee, Michael Brecker, Peter Erskine, Dave Weckl or Mitchel Forma.
